Suits Cast
Suits Cast is a free Windows app from Suits™ Scenes. Point it at an episode or a film: it detects every scene cut, finds every face in a single decode pass, resolves who is who, and hands you a clip timeline for each person. Render an mp4 pack per person, or send the sequences straight to Adobe Premiere Pro as FCP7 XML — no rendering needed.
What it does
- Automatic scene-cut detection
- Face detection and recognition, entirely on your machine
- Two-pass identity clustering, so one actor does not become two people
- Re-cluster at a different threshold without re-analysing the video
- Batch queue — add a season and leave it running
- ffmpeg bundled; hardware encoding when your machine has it
Keeps going when your PC is busy
Analysis runs in its own low-priority process: start a render in After Effects and Suits Cast steps aside, then carries on with whatever the machine has left. It saves its place every 20 seconds, so after a crash, a restart or closing the app it continues from the last save instead of starting the file again. The queue is written to disk, the window closes to the system tray while a job is running, and an export moves on to the next encoder when the hardware one is busy.
Characters mode: animation, CGI, puppets, creatures
Face recognition only sees real human faces. In Characters mode the film is analysed once; then you draw a box around a character on any frame and Suits Cast collects the scenes that character is in. Looking for someone else takes seconds, with no second analysis. It also works on 2D anime, telling characters apart by hair and clothing colour.
What to expect: it is careful by default and would rather leave a scene out than add a wrong one; a character who is tiny in a wide shot can be missed, and two characters with the same colours can get mixed up. There is no automatic “find everyone” for animation — you pick the character. Without a graphics card the analysis takes about as long as the film itself, and the first run downloads an 88 MB model.
